I didn’t think this film was available on DVD in the UK -- and indeed it isn’t. However, as I discovered recently, it was available back in 2001 and I have now acquired a copy.

‘Sleepstalker’ is a low-budget horror film starring Kathryn Morris, who is just as waver-thin here, but not quite as deathly-pale as she is in ‘Cold Case’. It was released in America in 1995. I think it was a direct-to-video release. It was written and directed by Turi Meyer. These days he is a writer and script editor for the show ‘Smallville’.

Morris is best known for her role in the long-running television show ‘Cold Case’. Her first acting role was in the Vanilla Ice film ‘Cool As Ice’ in 1991 when she was 22-years-old. Prior to that she had been a part of her family gospel singing group. In recent years she has had roles in big budget films like ‘AI: Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Minority Report’ and ‘Paycheck’.

‘Sleepstalker’ is not that dissimilar in style to the Emma Caulfield horror film ‘Darkness Falls’, except that rather than dealing with the Tooth Fairy, this film deals with the Sandman.

That more or less sums up the film. There really isn’t a lot more to be said about it. It’s cheap and cheerful and, I think, very watchable.
